Lucy P. Tejeda



February, 10, 1992.

Lucy P. Tejeda was born in the city of Puebla, Puebla, MX, but grew up between San Ysidro, California and Tijuana, Baja California, now resides in Long Beach, California. She specializes in pieces of lowbrow, surrealism and psychedelia, among paintings, illustrations and comic fanzines; works with acrylic, watercolor and pencil. She focuses on issues related to race, acceptance of human anatomy, female sensuality, fetish and existential delusions.

Graduated from Marketing, at the Autonomous University of Baja California, she was also part of the student exchange by the Benemerita University of Puebla, working as a body painting teacher. Subsequent to that,  attended a course of Management and Cultural Development, awarded by the Municipal Institute of Arts and Culture in Tijuana, Baja California.

She has volunteered in local projects in Tijuana like Guttural Seed, The Jolgorio de las Almas, Pasaje Rodriguez, IMPERFECTU; In activist groups with the Ibero-American Network of Human Rights, Menstruando en Casa and Las Flores; local projects in Los Angeles, such as POW WOW!, Squeeze Art Collective, TEDx Mission Viejo, and the Museum of Latin American Art in Long Beach. 

At the moment, Lucy is part of the docent program, by the Museum of Latin American Art and provides sessions of human figure in the gallery The Dark Art Emporium.
