We are looking for visual artists to participate in the inaugural Beach Streets event on Saturday, June 6th 2015. This one day event is the first of it's kind in Long Beach! The event will open up Atlantic Blvd to walking bicycling, and socializing by temporarily closing the street to vehicle traffic from 9am to 4pm. The transformation will stretch from Harding Avenue to Wardlow Road. People are referring to this event as Long Beach's Ciclovia.
Squeeze Art Collective is opening a call to all professional visual artists. There is no overall theme needed for this event. Bring your most amazing, inventive, and fun pieces of art!
All art must be submitted by May 29th for review and acceptance. The show is curated by co-founders and fellow artist members Tracy Negrete, Katie Phillips, and David Hedden. You will be notified of acceptance on Sunday, May 31st by midnight.
Once you are accepted, you must submit your label info to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than midnight Tuesday, June 2nd. Label info should include the Title, Your Name, Year Created, Media Used, Price, and Contact Info.
All artwork must be hang-ready or have it's own way of standing if it is not a hanging piece. Since this is an outdoor event, we will be providing our own gallery walls which you may rent for $10.00 a wall. There is a 4x4' area for hanging work on the walls which are 6x4' overall. You may hang as many pieces as you like on these walls. Accepted artists will receive a link to where they may pay for a wall.
